Where So where do we go from here?

We are about a half-hour drive out of Wellington or Lower Hutt cities, with regular busses running just below the house. There is also the Days Bay ferry, as a fun way to get into the big city.

Wellington is at the bottom of the North Island of New Zealand, a 4 hour drive away from Mt. Ruapehu's winter ski fields. The Interislander ferry leaves several times a day from Wellington for the South Island. The famous wine growing and tasting region of Martinborough in the Wairarapa is an hour away, just over the Rimutaka ranges - which is also a world class hiking destination.

Wellington city is of course New Zealand's capital, and houses our parliament buildings. It is a vibrant city, beloved of its inhabitants, home to the annual Wellington 7's rugby competition and costumed street festival. Wellington will also be hosting many of the Rugby World Cup games this year. The city is famous for the colourful vibe of Cuba Street, the nightlife of Courtnay Place, and the huge number of high quality cafes and restaurants everywhere.
